North County San Diego school districts are moving toward reopening campuses, with phased plans for in-person instruction that focus on the youngest and most vulnerable students first. Special ed students and English learners will return to on campus learning for extra help.
Vista, Poway, and Oceanside have announced plans for opening campuses to small groups of students this month, including special education students, English learners, and others who need additional help or receive specialized instruction.
Full reopening would happen next month at many schools. Even then, however, most students would return on staggered schedules for hybrid learning programs that include continued online instruction at home, along with in-person instruction using social distancing and other COVID-19 precautions.
